A little About mE
I am a wife, a Registered Nurse, and a mom to four children. I am a Certified Master Primal Health Coach based out of Metro Atlanta. When I am not working as a nurse, I enjoy spending time with my family and our two dogs. I enjoy hiking, playing tennis, reading, and most of all, cooking! As a nurse for over sixteen years, helping and caring for others has always brought me so much joy and satisfaction. I went through my own journey in transforming my health and I want to help others benefit from the changes I made in my life.
Over six years ago, I found myself overweight, angry and depressed. I hated the way I looked, hated the way I felt, and didn't know how to fix it. I had tried to eat better, tried to exercise and was reluctantly taking an antidepressant. I was desperate to feel better. Being a nurse, I knew my health was in jeopardy. I had gestational diabetes with each of my children, and knew I was at an increased risk of developing type two diabetes later in life. During each of my pregnancies, I had to follow a structured lower carb food plan. It was challenging, but I was able to follow it without the use of medications. I began to think that maybe that was my solution. I began to research online and was flooded with information about low carbohydrate diets. I read books, listened to podcasts and immersed myself in everything low carb as well as intermittent fasting. Through my research, I realized the simplicity of getting back to the basics - eating in a more primal way with real, whole foods, as our ancestors had. With implementing these dietary and lifestyle changes, weight loss came easy. I started sleeping better and had more energy which motivated me to continue.
I maintained this primal way of living, and after nine months I lost a total of fifty pounds. I have been able to effortlessly sustain this weight loss for the last six years. Through my journey, I have supported multiple friends and coworkers and helped them lose weight and improve their overall quality of life. I decided to become a health coach so I can continue to help women who felt the same way I did.
MY TRANSFORMATION
WORKING WITH ME
We all have been told to eat less and move more in order to achieve weight loss and improve our health. If this method worked, we wouldn't have the health crisis we have today. It is easy to tell clients what they should or shouldn't be eating, what exercises to do, how to get more sleep and manage their stress. Making major changes in nutrition and lifestyle can be challenging without the support of a trained health coach. Offering education, support, encouragement and accountability are the foundations of coaching. While my job is to assist clients in reaching their desired health goals, the client is ultimately responsible for their success. Coaching is a partnership and working together to achieve success is vital. I look forward to helping clients build lifelong habits and improve their health. Making a difference in someone's life is my ultimate goal and I am excited to begin the journey with you !!
